C, C. YOUNG'S EXPERIENCE NEEDED
"Foremer Governor C. C. Young, again a candidate; for
Governor, has had a record of successful experience in dealing
with the business affairs of our State that ranks him far in the
-lead of the many candidates for Governor. _ For twenty-two
years he was one of the most active leaders in formulating and
directing the activities of our State, six years of that time .
speaker of the Assembly, eight years as Lieutenant Governor,
and four years as Governor.
This is one of the most outstanding records of successively increasing responsibility in conducting the State’s business ever achieved by any man in Galifornia State life.
No one can point to any act of his during the entire 22
years of public service that was not directed towards the best
interests of all the people of the State.
It is a record of sound, practical accomplishment sinid extrip to Kidd Lake, where each eamperience that California bably needs again-at this critical time . percooked‘ her awn breakfast: niin its disturbed, economic and social conditions. ture hikes; a treasure humt;: gypsy
Every progressive, humanitarian law that has been passes eee
boating and nightly campfires. Tic!
ed, every forward step that has been taken by the State in
all that time had his active support. He has been especially
interested in aiding measures intended to benefit agriculture
and to further the better business interests of the State.
_ On the question of law enforcement and protecting the
rights of law-abiding citizens against the activities of law
breakers of every kind, Governor Young has always stood
solidly for the rights of the better members of society; more
effective work was done during his term as Governor to improve the criminal laws of the State and the methods of applying them for the protection of the good citizens against the
depredations of the criminal element than was ever done beThere is still much work to be done along this
line and he is the proper man to help do it.
His humanitarian views are tdo well known to require . t

than the fact that as Governor he gave us one of the cleanest,
most progressive administrations we have ever had. He took . ;
care of all the really important activities and needs of the
State.
His business ability was proved by the fact that he left
a surplus in the treasury at the end of his term of office of
over $31,000,000. We cannot now afford to do without the . . ,
tried experience of such a man. Let us put C. C. Young back :
