To All NRA Members:
I think there is no more patriotic community in California than
the People of Nevada City. Since . was honored by being chosen the
leader in the NRA I have received assurances of
everyone with whom . have talked.
The people of this city are anxious to be of service, eager to
support from
carry out the NRA program, and hogeful and confident that when it_
is thorougly understood and in operation employment here will be
increased and that we shall in due time experience with the rest of the
country an improvement in business and living conditions.
While we have had here in Nevada City, practically a one hundred percent sign-up to the general agreement with President Roosevelt, there still remain many questions to answer in particular lines
of industry or merchandising that must wait for their answer until we
y-Yeceive instructions or advice from larger NRA organizations, state
and national. When these arrive . shall promptly advise the public
through the press. . am confident that when the signal comes, and the
march toward beter times begins, Nevada City will be found in step
with California and the Nation.
(Signed) P. G-SCADDEN

That President Roosevelt in submiting the NRA plan to the American

reasonable time for its operation. :
That, having chosen President Roosevelt to lead us out of this hard
times wilderness, it is now our duty to accept that plan, take that medicine, which he has proposed, and each one of us to do his part in
affecting a cure.
