FRESNO, Aug. 17—(UP)—Confident that prohibition will be repealed by the end of the year, California’s famous wineries 'were prepared
today to crush and ferment grapes
almost on the scale they did before
prohibition.
Vinters, whose product was worlafamous a few years ago, sensed in
the trend against prohibition a good
market for the 1933 vintage, according to Harry A. Caddow, secretary
of the Grape Growers’ League ‘of
California and a leader in the congressional fight for legal wine.
