Tony Rore proposed having signs made directing people to the ‘park, It was also suggested that seed be sown in the spring and have the ground about the pool brightened by green grass and flowers. The commission will meet with the city council in an effort to secure lights and bleachers for the baseball park for, evening. Sames next year, It was estimated this would cost about $2,000. The park commission suggested the pool be closed when interest lags in ‘iswimming.” SERVICES HELD FOR LATE DORA WINNEY Funeral services were held in Holmes Funeral Home chapel yesterday afternoon for the late Mrs. Dora Winney who passed away early Friday morning at the home of her son, Claude EB. Winney, on the Tahoe Ukiah highway. She was a native of Ohio aged 71 years She came to Nevada City about twelve years ago to reside with her son. She is survived by the following sons and daughters, E, E. Winney, Taft; C. E. Winney, Nevada City; L. W. Winney, Grass Valley; Mrs. Flossie Whipp and Mrs. Hazel Chapman, Nevada City, besides grandchildren, great grandchildren and a brother and sister. LAST RITES ARE HELD FOR GIACOMO ZANOCCO Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon for the late Giacomo “Jake” Zanocco, well known Nevada City citizen who passed away in a Sacramento hospital Friday morning after several weeks illness. He was 64 years of age and a native of Italy. He came to Nevada City over 45 years ago. Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Mrs. Zaira Zanocco. sons and daughters, Fred Zanocco, Nevada Zanocco, Mrs. Loretta Morandi, Grass Valley with the following step-sons and daughters,.
