spent in San Francisco and the fair.
Mr. and Mrs. Ed Martz have just
returned from a business trip of several weeks spent at Tonopah, Nevada.

and Fred Reed each brought home a
limit of the fine trout Tuesday, the
ibest they have caught so far this
season. They have been going fishing
‘two or three times a week but the
new fishing district near Downieville
is the best so far.
Mrs. Samuel’ Golt of Phoenix,
Arizona, has arrived to visit her siser, Mrs. T. S. Ford who is quite ill.
(Mrs. Iva Williamson, city librarian, and sister, Mrs. Margaret Hallett, returned home Sunday from a
two weeks vacation spent in San
Francisco and at the fair.
C. E. Bosworth went to Redding
yesterday after several days in Nevada City. He will return Tuesday to
continue with work.in Nevada City.
Mr. and Mrs. B. Moose of Niles
have made several visits to the Charles Myers home on the Gracey mine
road and became so delighted with
this district they purchased a lot

Miss Delores M. Younkin, 19 and
Robert B. Coe, 21, of Grass Valley
were married in Reno, on Saturday,
August 19. Miss Younkin graduated
from the Nevada City high schoolwith the class of 1939 and is popular with the younger set.
Sidney B. Wood, Sr., and son.,. Sidney B. Wood, Jr., arrived in Grass
Valley Saturday evening and continued on to Alleghany Sunday. Sidney Wood, Jr., recently. purchased
the Plumbago mine at Alleghany.
The trip was made in the interests of
the property. Sidney Wood, Jr., recently arrived in California after participating in the eastern tennis tournaments. Hd Burns of Hollywood was

Titiomas R. Caldwell talented musician and former resident of the Nevada, City-Chicago Park section ,passed through Nevada City yesterday
and called upon former friends. Caldwell returned to his estate in Florida
about three years ago and has been
chosen supervisor of music in the
county in which he resides. He also
wing the winter. He was married
while residing in this county and his
wife accompanied him to Florida, Due
to illness she had to return to California and has, been at Ojai for a
year. Caldwell is enroute to visit her.

their home after a two day visit with
Mrs. Anna Tucker and other friends
in Nevada City. Mrs. Erdman was
the former Miss Emma Wolf and resided on Coyote street for several
years before moving te the bay district. .Mr. and Mrs. Erdman have
been on their vacation coming here
