Mrs. William Gracey Given Farewell Party The group of Tahoe Forest Service officials wives gave Mrs. Wiiliam Gracey a farewell party Tuesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Leland Smith. Bridge was the diversion of the afternoon, with prizes being awarded. A dainty luncheon was. served at a prettily appointed tabl. The color schme was green and gold. WOMAN'S CIVIC CLUB COMPLETES 1934 WORK At the business meeting of the Womanh’s Civic Club on: Monday evening routine work was accomplished and plans for the Christmas tree completed. The tree will be decorated and lighted by. tomorrow night. The program and gift giving by the school children will take place Tuesday afternoon 2:30 o’clock. Miss Getrude Goyne will plan the program and supervise the “sift giving’? by the children. The Native Daughters will present bags of candy to the school children. The club voted $25 for the Firemen’s ball fund. The president appointed azeéneral committee consisting of Mrs. R. E. Harris, Mrs. A. W. Hoge, Mrs. George Gildersleeve, Miss Mulloy and Mrs. George “Calanan to take at ' 4 **misconduct, negligence and inattention” to duties, because of which “lives . of upward of 50 persons were . } destroyed.’’ William F. Warms, . above, acting captain of the illfated Morro Castle which burned at sea with a loss of 134 lives, faces a possible maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
