Napoleon Bonaparte Bishop Funeral Friday were held last Friday in Holmes Funeral Home for Napoleon Bonaparte Bishop, a resident of French Corral, who died in a local hospital Tuesday morning. The services were in charge of Rev. Virgil Gabrielli. Intenment ‘Was in the North San Juan Cametery. Bishop had lived at French Corral for many years. He followed mining and had a wide acquaintance and many friends on San Juan Ridge where he had worked and lived for 50 years. He was 78 years of age. Surviving are a son, Clyde Bishop
of Brownsville, Yuba Couuty, a grandson Lester.Bishop and sisters, Mrs. Josie Burkholder of North San Juan; and Mrs. Nettie Kneebone of Wheatland, Yuba County. Constable’ Johanson was credited with finding a clue which led to the arrest of the suspects. He discovered a scrap of paper with three unidentigjed telephone listings on it. in the burglarized home of Everett Mills at Tahoe Pines. : He sent the numbers, together with g detailed description of stolen articles to Chief of Police Charles Dullea in San Francisco. One of the numbers turned out to be that of a Post Street automobile rental agency. Inspectors Ray Hunt atid David Brady checked and discovered an automobile was rented te the Greathouses on October 2¥. The speedometer showed the car had been driven 497 miles approximately the round trip distance from San Franisco to Tahoe and the machine had returned the following day. The officers visited the hotel op-. erated by the Greathouses at 481 Minna Street and found a large number of items tallying with Johanson’s description. A further check uncovered other articles in a garage.
