The Nevada City )Chamber volunteered to contribute part of the costs*The plan of building a ski lodge at the course was also discussed but it was believed that this should wait until necessary first improvements are made. DeWitt Nelson, supervisor of the Tahoe National Forest, gave an ac+ count of the work already done by the forest service in making this-one of the safest and most attractive ski eourses in this part. of&the Sierras. The course has been cleared of all obstacles and topographically lies in such a manner that skiers can almost return to their starting place under their own power. Supervisor Nelson stated that approximately $3,000 mainly for labor has been expended in clearing the course. He said ‘that in so far as labor was concerned the forest service would aid in setting up the proposed lavatories, but that materials would have to be provided, Secretary H. F. Sofge, of the chamber, pointed out that other communities are spending thousands of dollars for ski courses, to meet the increasing demand for spots where .f Winter sperts enthusiasts may be accommodated.
