ROVED BY CCC BOYS ‘Camp Grass Valley for CCC boys! has a group of new arriyals mostly . from around Stockton, The new boys! are settled i Amp ‘atid ‘work’ started on tables and cement stoves for the several totrist camps the Tahoe National Forest maintains for the traveling public. There are 170 boys at Bradley CCC camp neat Forest Hill. These boys are also making tables and cement stoves but will soon be put to work ’ ‘on the Baker Ranch-Mosquito creek ‘ i luff trail which has{been under j ‘construction for several years. The flood waters of the Truckee river near Cisco.washed away some eamp. equipment which will be Teplaced and the camps are also ‘to,/be ‘ enlarzed for next year. Some of the new qeuipment will be sent to Tahoe‘ Ukiah COC summer camp at White ‘Cloud east of Nevada City. This camp ground is proving quite popular. it is easy of access and is in a beautiful ' heavily timbered section.° The Bureau of Agriculture and Engirsineering ig putting on a national “broadcast every Friday evening 2etween 6:30 and 6:45 over the red network. The local Tahoe National ‘Forest headquarters reports by wire te the broadcasting company on locab conditions at the different ski -.“and\sports grounds constructed and ein ined by the forest service. One'cf the ski courses is at the foot of Mt. Rose on the eastern slope * «half way between Lake Tahoe and constructed and the ski jump and slalom have just been completed. CCC boys are working on a ski trial sign near Norden near the Summit. They’ have cleared a very fine ski trail Which is intended to be a part of a trunk ski trail planned by the Sierra Club of California. A new forest service lookout has just been completed under supervision of -W. P. Lee on the forest service staff, at Columbia Hill. This lookout ‘will cover the Tyler gountry. The Tahge..National Forest service.management is: well pleased with results obtained! in reforstry on the large burned over area in the Forest Hill divide, the past season. Fire destroyed hundreds of acres of timber in this district about two years ago. DAMAGE. SUIT SETTLED CAMPTONVILLE, Dec. 30.—The damage suit. started in the local justice court by JOS. Svoboda against Miss Ruth Fank éf Long Beach was dismissed on motion of attorney for the defendant when they settled the claim in full, paying the damages done to the Svoboda car in an auto--' mobile collision which took place near here last July.
