Washburn officiating. Interment was made in Pine Grove cemetery. Mrs. LaKamp, aged) $4 years, passed away at the Landis Clinic in Grass Valley Tuesday morning. She leaves a husband, Guy E. Social Events Miss Dorothea Howard Weds Richard Parsons Richard Parsons of Nevada City and Miss Dorothea Howard, formerly Thomas Pateman, rector of Trinity Episcopal church of Nevada City officiated. A wedding breakfast was enjoyed after the ceremony with the wedding party and family members in attendance. id The groom:is the son of Mr. and (Mrs. C. E. Parsons of Nevada City where he has a wide circle of friends whe wish for him every happiness. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Balmforth who now reside in San Diego. Mr. and Mrs. Parsons will make their home at Hornbrook, in northern California where Mr. Parsons is stationed with the state plant quarantine service. Dick Parsons has been in the emvioy of the board of quarantine for the past three years. The bride is a native of Lincoln, Mass., while the groom was born in Lynn, Mags. He.came to Nevada City with his parents when only three years old and after graduating from the local schools completed a course in the University of California at Davis in 1930. Annie Sherman, past _ tated of the chapter, was hostess for the evening. She became a member in 1892 and her first office in the chapter was Star Point Ruth. During the past term she has filled this office several times for Matron Esther Joyal, who recalled the fact. Upon the retirement of Mrs. Joyal Tuesday evening Mrs. Sherman presented her with a highly treasured silver and_ gojd Ruth spoon. Mrs: Joyal also receiyed a beautiful ring from the chapter. Retiring Patron Walter Carlson was presented with an electric desk lamp. = Margaret Bosworth and Solaro were soloists for the evening. Bernice Penrose was chairman of the banquet committee and was praised for the delicious dinner. Forty eight specially made candles lighted the gaily decorated banquet room, , The new district deputy, Catherine Jones of Grass Valley was present and there were visitors from several nearby chapters. Mr. and Mrs. Joyal Are Dinner Hosts Mr, and Mrs. Fabian Joyal entertained twelve relatives at a dinner last Saturday in their cosy home on the Red Dog road. In the party were Mrs. Dedrick and daughter of Idaho who were grandmother and aunt’of Mr. Joyal. Mrs. Dedrick has been visiting her daughter Mrs. Frank Joyal, whoxreside near Mr. and Mrs. Frank Farmer on Robinson Heights. RURAL TEACHERS VISIT COLTISA Mrs. Sylvia Mosher, supervisor of rural instruction, under County Supervisor of Schools Walter Carison, has compiled the following report of the program which is now being carried forward in county schools: “Opportunity for observation and evaluation of teaching experiences in schools of similar size and having like problems is to be made ayvailable to all teachers of the rural schools. All plans pertaining to this are carried over in accordance with the approval of the Boards of Trustees of the various districts. “As a result of this program a group participated in a visiting day in rural schools of Colusa county.
