They were raised by Mrs. Amelia Cunningham. Mrs. Hattie Bone and Mrs. T. Adams roasted the birds. Clyde Adams and’ his brother in law Wassell acting as chefs did fa grand job. The people of the community contributed the mince .nies and other items on the menu. Oliver Martin with his faithful jeep carried dinners to the shut-ins of the community. The tables were tastefully decorated with madrone_ berries—and persimmons and waited) upon by bobby sockers Barbara Har-. ris, Pat Burgin, Kathleen M«Quinn, . {Nettie Ennis, Diahla ‘Church and Joan Hayhurst decked with jaunty caps and aprons. The affair was ably planned by our primary teacher, . Miss Effie Herrald. David Lester new. owner of Twamley Hall generously giving its use and otherwisé assistinig. Mr. and Mrs. Lester and their three children are now making Nor. San Juan their home. Thev plan to sponsor regular fortnightly public dances at the hall with the next one eoming this Saturday. Butler are, home again at their new house 4 mile out of North San Juan. “Recent visitors of Mrs. Ellen Solaro were her daughter and husband Mr. and Mrs. Frank P. Reardon of Oakland and a nephew, Lester Pfister of Gridley, farm advisor helped the 4H -Club of the Ridge plant a test plot of 26 varieties of seeds on the Rhoades Ranch. Mrs. Annie Bradbury, Robert Cassidy and George Hanper joined forees in a Thanksgiving feast. Another social evening was had at Woods hall on the night. of November 30th. Ruth and Wess Wiley furnished music for the dancing which was enlivened by square dances ealled by Fred Butz Sr. of Celestial Valleyy and broom dances. It being Saturday night a goodly number of school age were on-the floor. The hat was passed to pay for the music. The ladies brought cakes and sandDaughters Mrs. H. Las often these days we are forced to say «ee “Sorry, we cannot connect you to gas service this month.” We have plenty of GAS for home use, but we just don’t have the pipe necessary to connect homes.or businesses to the street mains. Last August manufacturers cut off all pipe deliveries. Despite that we are doing our level best to obtain the pipe we need to-serve you. We are buying what War Surplus pipe is available: we are scouring the nation for other pipe, but there i is not enough to go around. We want you to know that everything is being done to get pipe and to serve gas wherever it is needed. It is the small “home-size” , Pipe that is so scarce today. 3%4 inch, 1 inch and 114 inch sizes are used to connect homes to street mains .. Today we are getting only one-third of the amount of this pipe we require. Wanted: LINEMEN We have problems too with Electric Line extensions.
