Seven Feet of Snow
Near Graniteville
Fred H. Anderson, superintendent
of the Ancho-Erie mine near Graniteville, home for a few days, reports
there is seven feet of snow on
the road from the mine. He came ou:
on a tractor. When he stepped off the
tractor the snow was over his head.
He states that he has a maintenance crew of ‘six at the mine, who
are now. ehgaged in working on the
lower tunnel where ledge makes
good showing.
a
Work is forward on the
Poorman’s creek road so that he and
his crew can get out by way of the
Spanish bine and Washington, thus
by-passing the heavy snow. Anderson
says that the recent heavy rains have
carried away old mine dumps along
Poorman’s creek that have been
there for 40 years, indcating the recent rains were heavier than at any.
time in that period.
