DANCE PLANS TO BE
YOUTH COUNCIL TOPIC
AT MEETING FRIDAY .
NEVADA CITY: Tne Youth Recreation Council will meet Friday
night at 7:30 P. M. in the Chamber
of Commerce room in the City Hall.
Mrs. Horace Ward Sheldon will outline plans for the youth recreation
benefit, dance scheduled to be held
at the Elks hall on March 1st.
All local organizations are urged
this important meeting. AM interested persons are welcome to attend.
LICENSE PLATES
ARE ON THE WAY
Vehicle owners of Nevada City and
Grass Valley who have not yet raceived their 1947 license plates and
registration cards are asked not to
worry and to refrain from writing letters to the Department of Motor
Vehicles, in a message received here
today from Director Edgar E. Lampton.
Althonzh the plates are being
mailed out as fast as they are made
up by “the manufacturer, Lampton
said, it will not be pessible to produce ali of the 147 plate contract before early April because of the steel
shortage, onsequently, it will ve
close to May 1 before all plates have
been mailed out to applicants.
At this time approximately 14,250,000 pairs of plates have been
received from the manufacturer out
of a contract that is close to 3,000,000 pairs.
Meanwhile, the 1947 registration
cards are being processed in the
chronological order received and are
being mailed to local vehicle owners
independently of plates so that
vehicles Thay be trtnsferred if desired. ¢

An Explorers
Troop of Senior Scouts will be organized next Tuesday evening under
sponsorship of the Grass Valley Lions
Club.
The committee in charge of rganization consists of Lien Club
members, W. D. Waldron, chairman,

will be drawn from Boy Scout Troop

the marriage of Mrs. Joseph D. Regan of San Francisco to Albert Krasevaec, formerly of Grass Valley, in

Francisco. Monsignor Patrick Ryan
celebrated the nuptial mass.
Mre. Krasevac is the daighter of
the late Mr. and Mrs. S.-W. Schmidt
of this city and owns a beautiful old
resident on Broad Street. She graduated from the Nevada City high
school and Mills College.
Krasevae is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Lawrence Krasevac of Grass
Valley. He graduated from the Graés
Valley high school and the University
of California. During the war’he was
an officer in the U. & Army Air
Corps and won the Distinguished
‘Flying Cross and the Air Medal with
11 Oak Leaf clusters. He is a brother of Mrs. Elmer Fischer of this city,
