CONFERENCE . CALLED FOR FOREST (RANGERS , Supervisor Ellis has called a meeting of district rangers of the Tahoe national forest in Nevada City this week to discuss work programs for the coming field season. Subjects under consideration at the meeting are grazing permits, road construction and maintenance, fire hazard reduction along highways and forest fire prevention. The recent increase in public use of-forest facilities has placed added responsibilities on the rangers ‘jn fire control, road maintenance and recreation according to Ellis. COMPLAINS TWO DOGS. KILLED Albert Gelhaus of Chicago Park appearing in Justice of the Peace Charlés Morehouse’s court yesterday pleaded not guilty to a charge of cruelty to animals brought by his neighbor, W. P. Dicken. Dicken comiplained that Gelhaus ieruelly wounded and killed two dogs beloniging to Dicken. He: did not describe the manner of their death. The’ trial has not been set. In the vicinity of Alturas 686 were found and 245 were counted due east of Cedarville on the California Nevada line.
