A 1934 Forecast
Roger W. Babson has built up on eviable reputation .
in the past 30 years as a business forecaster. His accuracy is .
too well known to the general run of citizens to require any .

He has made his business and financial predictions for . es
1934, and no one can read his forecast without feeling reassured and more optimistic. He declares that the NRA is not a
passing fancy but will be continued as a permanent policy.
There will be greater cooperation, he says, between the Roosevelt administration and business this year, which should improve conditions. He also says there is little need for fear this
year, for it will be another step on the upward swing, with
plenty of opportunities for those who are earnestly seeking
the way to better times. It will not see a boom, such as the
days of 1929, he declares; but rather a strengthening of the
entire business and financial structure along sane lines.
Babson’s is among the most optimistic of all To
made for 1934. From one so conservative, and backed by his
record of having predicted accurately in years gone by, it
ought to be a big factor in cheering even the bluest of those
among us.
_. But to make his forecast come true there is work to be
done. . It will not be an easy year on loafers.
