Fuller of Grass ‘Valley will celebrate their fiftieth or. Golden Wedding anniversary Sunday, February 11, at the home of their daughter and son in law, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Morrison on Neal street. Four other children of the couple will participate in the celebration. O. H. Fuller married Miss: Kate ‘Honold in Forest, Sierra county, February 11, 1890. Miss Regina Honold, of Sacramento and sister of Mrs. Fuller who acted as bridesmaid, is the only one of the wedding guests living. Fuller was born at Goodyears Bar and Mrs. Fuller is a native of Howland Flat, Sierra county. The children’ of the couple are, Mrs. Libbie Payne, Mrs, Reta Morrison, Grass Valley; Herman Fuller, vostal inspector, Oakland; .T. R. Fuller, pharmacist of Oakland; Mrs. Bertha Berryman,, Auburn. There are nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Other family members from out of’ town expected are,. Mrs. O. T. Mrs. Myrtle Bettcher Thimble Club Hostess members of the Willow Valley Thimble Club at her home northeast of Nevada City Tuesday afternoon. A tamale pie dinner was enjoyed and the afternoon was occupied with fancy work. Mrs. R. J. Berggren entertained at the last meeting and birthday anniversaries were celebrated. Mrs. Carl J. Tobiassen will entertain the club at her home next Tuesday. Evangeline Chapter Conducts Initiation Evangeline Chapter, O. E. some of the Senior girls as delegates to the Older Girls Conference, which is held every year at Richardson’s Springs. These dances will continue every week, with the admission at five cents, in order to support this fund. SCHOLARSHIP CONVENTION The California State Scholarship Federation convention of the Northern district, which includes twenty schools, is to be held at the high school on Saturday, March 2. The plans for the general program are being made by Miss M. Rector, advisor of the Nevada City, Honor Society, and the members of the society. The theme is to be ‘‘Vocations.”’ Part of the program will include speaking, discussions, and musical numbers, Th registration will begin at 10:30 a. m. and the convention will continue into the middle of the afternoon. The number of delegates from the’other schools has not yet been determined. SHARPS AND FLATS The Sharps and Flats Chorus=under the direction of ‘Mrs. Marian Libbey, has several engagements scheduled for the next few weeks. First they are to sing several selections on Friday, February 9, for the program of the Past Exalted Ruler of the B. P O. E. On February 22 they are to sing, with the elementary chorus, at the Americanization program to be given in the Elks hall. The big event, on February -28, is to sing over Sacramento radio station KFBK. Preceding that program same date. The new bus will furnish transportation. CAGE GAME POSTPONED There will be no basketball game}held in the high school gymnasium this Friday, February 9, because of the sophomore hop. Mrs. Theresa Kitts and Mrs. C. Myers motored to Southern California this week and are enjoying visitDick Lane, local garageman, motored to Fallon, Nevada, Tuesday to attend the funeral of _ his ~~ wife’s grandmother. Cc. B. Doctor Jones seeks to: quiet title to 60 acres of land in the Champion mine region claiming defendants have no interest or title to the property which .is situated on the Josiah Rogers agricultural patent and all the lodes, ledges and gold deposits on t('e Langdon homestead. Friends in Nevada City received a letter from Mrs. Ernest Peterson at Gerlach, Nevada, stating he was recovering from severe injuries suffered from a delayed blast in a mine near that city. Mr. and Mrs. Peterson left this city in September after residing here five years. While here they were active in lodges and clubs. Alex Jamie, a recent arrival in Nevada City suffered a fainting spell while out walking near the junction of Drummond street and the Downieville highway. Chief of Police Garfield Robson was called and he was removed to his room in the Sierra Hotel where he is recovering. He has traveled extensively in South Africa: THANKS Gus E.
