LIVESTOCK ASSOCIATION HALD MEET SATURDAY Chris Loney was elected president of the Tahoe Livestock Association held at Nevada City Saturday, and W. E. Wright was re-elected Secrecade. L. jaa Bigelow who showed colored slides for illustrating his points. The matter of light burning was one of his lead topics. Other subjects touched upon were rustling, range grass, aims and objects of the Association and its benefits to the stock raisers. CONTEST DAMAGE SUIT BEGUN BY WAYNFLETE Walter Waynflete, publisher of the Truckee Republican, started suit the past week through his attorney, Oscar E. Winburn, against one R. D. Rumors had been flying thick and fast as they. always do when there is a mess of-some kind, and it was told that the men were unable to get their wages. A discharged employe who is reported to have carried off the. time book is said to have been’ responsible, for that trouble and as soon as that was recovered, the pay checks were issued. It was unfortunate for Richards that the stormy weather came on when it did as it held him up from getting back down to civilization in time to avert the troubles. He moved to the state of Nevada and engaged in mining and general mercantile business there for a number of years. He was married twice, the first wife being Miss Mary Downing. The inspector gave a site on Cement Hill such a rating recently. The program of the Aeronautical Commitee covers the development of landing fields, aeronautical legislation, enforcement of state and federal aeronautical laws, and the preparation of courses in aviation. Assistance is also being given to the development o fall forms of commercial aviation. M. Harris and D. E. Matteson have commenced action against Roy J. King, erstwhile mining promoter and his wife over a prcmissory to pay recently and which repres@nted mony allegedly advanced to finance operations of the Grass Valley Gold Mines. The amount repre-' sented in the attachment proceedincourt the pastfew days is $939.69. : A considerable amount of property in King’s name and in which he is reputed to have an interest has been placed under attachment by the sherifi’s office including portion of Lot 3, Block 15, an undivided half intererest in ‘another portion of the same lot, and a 14-30 interest in and to certain land and mineral rights in Rought and ear township. The prooceedings are the outcome of a note signed by Harris and Matteson and also by the Kings, it is alleged, to the Nevada wCounty Bank on July lst, 1926, and which the plaintiffs allege was recently paid by themselves. They claim that they received no consideration therefor, alleging the proceeds went to the defendants. Kifte claims the money received from: the note, it is reported, went to pay pressing financial obligations. King has recently suit hoping to land some of the stock in the Grass Valley Gold Mines Company. Nilon, Hennessy & Kelly represent the plaintiffs in the action.
