START SUIT ON KING
T. M. Harris and D. E. Matteson
have commenced action against Roy
J. King, erstwhile mining promoter and his wife over a prcmissory
to pay recently and which repres@nted mony allegedly advanced to
finance operations of the Grass Valley Gold Mines. The amount repre-'
sented in the attachment proceedincourt the pastfew
days is $939.69. :
A considerable amount of property in King’s name and in which he
is reputed to have an interest has
been placed under attachment by
the sherifi’s office including portion of Lot 3, Block 15, an undivided half intererest in ‘another portion of the same lot, and a 14-30
interest in and to certain land and
mineral rights in Rought and ear
township.
The prooceedings are the outcome
of a note signed by Harris and
Matteson and also by the Kings, it
is alleged, to the Nevada wCounty
Bank on July lst, 1926, and which
the plaintiffs allege was recently
paid by themselves. They claim that
they received no consideration
therefor, alleging the proceeds went
to the defendants. Kifte claims the
money received from: the note, it is
reported, went to pay pressing financial obligations.
King has recently
suit hoping to land some of the
stock in the Grass Valley Gold
Mines Company.
Nilon, Hennessy & Kelly represent the plaintiffs in the action.
