Promptly at nine~ o’clock Friday

Following an old time forty niner custom, established when legal

honor of their shivaree by leading
the huge throng up the main street
to the next bar which, in this case,
appened to be the Forty-Niner, owned and operated by Jack Brooks:
From that.resort of refreshment the
popular newlyweds now led the
crowd to the bar at ‘the National
Hotel.
There being no more drink emporiums in town, Mr, and Mrs. Woods
then led the crowd into Twamley
Memorial hall. Here the crowd fell
into a giant grand march which dissolved into the Bride’s Waltz.
Music was provided with Dewey
Kessler at the piano. Tex. Weaver
and his banjo and William Kessler
and Verge Judd spelled each other
on the fiddle. Old fashioned quadrilles, lancers and Paul Jones were the
high spots of the evening interspersed with waltzes, two steps and fox
trots that kept the shivaree minded
guests on their.toés until the hands
