Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Coughlan,
daughter, Miss Una Coughlan, sons,
Charles, and Dennis Jr., spent the
Christmas and New Year holidays at
the Coughlan brothers home at North
Columbia where all members of the
families were present including six
sons and daughter, Miss Margaret
Coughlan, nurse in the Nevada City
Sanitarium. The mother of Mr.
Coughlan is between 87 and 8&8 .
years and enjoys the yuletide with ‘
all_of_her children present, Among
the guests at the Coughlan home is
Father J. J. MoGary of Maxwell who
always spends the ‘holidays at the
ranch.
‘While Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Coughlan were at North Columbia they attended two New Year parties. Miss
Florence (Riatcher ientertained at the
ranch and there were about thirty
present for the happy event. Miss
Georgia English and_ sister Mrs.
Frank Brophy gave a party at the
Rose Valley ranch entertaining be—
tween twenty five and thirty friends
for a delightful old time reunion.
Teammates on the baseball field and hunting companions in the field
are Roy Johnson, left, veteran coach of the Chicago Cubs, and Larry
French, one of the team’s pitchers. They are untying.a wild boar shot
on Santa Catalina island, where the Cubs hold their pre-season training.

a position as stenographer in the office of Dr. Carl P. Jones in Grass
alley. Miss Stephens graduated from
