Notary Public Telephone 41_ THE NEVADA. cITy ‘NUGGET, CALIF ORNIA_ ———— 29 WATER ASSOCIATION IN NEED OF FUNDS NORTH SAN --JUAN, Jan. 5, (Special ‘to The Nugget)—The finance committee of the San Juan Water Asociation is wrestling with the problem of raising money to meet the presing debts of the Aasociation incurred in the rebuilding of the North Bloomfield flume and making ditch repairs.’ There is $2707.23 owing on labor. account, som of which is urgently needed. Owing to the fact that the irrigation district turned the water out of the ditch soon afer it was completed and the flume becoming filled with snow and ice means that it cannot be used before early summer. The lack of water so hampered the operations of the Rescue Eula and Yellow Tiger companies near Graniteville that it entailed a severe loss to them for the money they put in to help rebuild the flume. ‘The Association has been trying to get a conference with the irrigation keeping a regular supply . of water in the ditch at all times. The Ancho. mine is said to have had but oné day’s use of the water’! and the at Gaston it was on for 18 days. Considering the large expense the Association was put to.to put the ditch system in repair it has created a serious problem to face. William Lackland was a Nevada City business visitor the past week.
