This brave group of girls -voluntered to take up the burden of conducting dances in the hall and to
devote the proceeds to the Hall
Association to pay upon the promissory note held against the property
How well their enthusiasm and
well planned programs have been
appreciated are well known to
those who partonize the dances and
their friends, but the general public: may not know the long hours of
labor that these girls have devoted
to the work. May they succeed in
raising the money to pay: the debt
hanging over the heads of the Hall
Association, and it is to be. hoped
that when they have paid in full
the large sum still due, that the
Redmen’s Hall Association will see
fit to let the girls have the hall
so that they can make a little
money for themselves.
We can remember when the county courthouse was thought of by
many people with rather a feeling
of awe, perhaps assisted by the
proximity of the county jail. At
any rate old-time officials of the
county at: times seemed to consider
that this feeling had to be justified
on their part with solemn and
courtly demeanor.
Itw as refreshing to note on the
Christmas that the ofidea into the county building. The
present set of county officials are
as friendly a bunch = as will be
found in any institution and there
is always a pleasant word of courtesy from them to all who have bu1 siness in the
fact that they all enjoyed the Christmas tree demonstrates that in the
county offices the spirit of peace on
earth and good will toward men
reigns supreme. And the generous
sprinkling of earnest’ women and
girls among the. offices probably
adds pleasantness as well as fairness to the official atmosphere.
On Christmas

along a ways and then stop and
sing one of their offers and then
pass along a block or
another neighborhood.
It strikes us that this is a peach
of an idea.
