This year they started at Big Bend Ranger Station and are going all the way mae” the gorge returning to camp on iday. Each year they have found excellent fishing there. Twenty two scouts appeared for the merit badges, five more than the week previous. Jim McConnel, Gerd Tobias and Duane Morrill of Grass Valley received their tenderfoot badges, Jerry O’Neil.of Nevada City as awarded his second class badge Kenneth’ Ricksecker of Auburn received rank of first class. Harris Paxton received star award and Forrest Rupley and Wayne Madeley life rank. During the past week three early bird hikes were conducted by Bob Robinson the nature man. The total number of scouts attending camp this year is almost 10 per cent more Boys 9, 10 and 11 years old, cubs of the Tahoé Area Council, will frolic on Kilborn Lake near Soda Springs this Handicraft, particularly that included in the cub, handbooks will be featured as part of the vacation program.
