CAMPTONVILLE, July 28, (Special to The Nugget)— A fine reunion
dinner was served on Sunday at the
E. J. Price home with _a number of
local and visiting people’ present.
Mrs. M. A. Ramm was. the chefess
in charge of the cuisine and her artistic efforts were much appreciated.

“Narrow escape from serious injuries was hadeby Charles L. Wilson,
Francis Bortsch and Frank Klenzendorf Sunday night when the Klenzendorf car went off the grade near
town on the county road. They had
been to town and were returning
home when the accident occurred on
a sharp turn, the wheels skidding in
loose gravel. The car went over the
grade and turned upside down, pinning the occupants beneath. They
crawled out almost unhurt.
Bert L. Meek of Oroville, state director of public works, was an honored guest at The Forest Wednesday
afternoon while on his way out from
the marker dedication ceremonies
near Truckee. He had a fine visit
with W. B. Meek, who regaled him
and his associates with many tales of
the early days. The party was presented with a box of fine Camptonville apples.

by a rattlesnake while at play Wednesday morning in the woodshed.

It is with a sense of deep appreciation that we desire
to publicly thank our local fire department, the Grass
Valley fire department and all others who worked so
valiantly in subduing the flames at our recent fire.
The headway reached by the-blaze before being discovered made it impossible to save anything on the
main floor but the basemert and its contents are in
remarkably good shape considering the intense heat
and the thousands of gallons of water required to
subdue it. The fact that the fire was confined to our
building is ancther evidence of the good work done.
