FRENCH CORRAL
BY MRS. KATE M. SULLIVAN
FRENCH CORRAL, July 28—
With forest fires here and strikes in
San Francisco, July has been rather
an exciting month. The effect of the
San Francisco trouble is felt even in
our quiet little town. Delightful
weather once more brings comfort
and happiness.
‘A trip to Nevada City recently disclosed to us the awful ravages of
forest fires. The beautiful scenery
along the highway all destroyed and
nothing left now but charred trees
and heaps of ashes. It just sickens
‘ the heart of those who love our
y country and all its beauty.

from their -son, Will Culver and his
wife. On their return to the city
last week they were accompained by
Will’s mother who has not been very
well. She will-remain-with them for
awhile for rest-and treatment.
Mr. and Mrs. Mardon and their
son, Boyd, of Oakland, were recent
visitors. As all are natives of this
section, it is always a a treat.to receive .
a visit, even for a short time.
