SULLIVAN FRENCH CORRAL, July 28— With forest fires here and strikes in San Francisco, July has been rather an exciting month. The effect of the San Francisco trouble is felt even in our quiet little town. Delightful weather once more brings comfort and happiness. ‘A trip to Nevada City recently disclosed to us the awful ravages of forest fires. The beautiful scenery along the highway all destroyed and nothing left now but charred trees and heaps of ashes. It just sickens ‘ the heart of those who love our y country and all its beauty. On their return to the city last week they were accompained by Will’s mother who has not been very well. She will-remain-with them for awhile for rest-and treatment. Mr. and Mrs. Mardon and their son, Boyd, of Oakland, were recent visitors. As all are natives of this section, it is always a a treat.to receive . a visit, even for a short time. C. F.
