He was well liked by all who knew him for his genial and genereus ways. (Mr. Davis is survived by a wife; and small daughter of this city, a mother, sister, and brother, the latter being Ted Davis all of Los Angeles and Hollywood. The funeral services will be held; at 10 o’clock this (morning from; Holmes Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Washburn officiating, interment taking place in Pine rove cemetery. Valleys; and around Reno on the! east, into the mountains of the Tm» hoe National Forest has been, going on for some time. The grass this year in the mountains is heaviersthan for many years past. Due to the large amount of . rainfall this year, both in the valleys and in the mountain regions, the movement of stock into the mountains started later this season. The forage in the lower regions has been better than in years past also, allowing for a longer stay on the farm fields. Leland Smith is in charge of grazing lands in the Tahoe Nationa] forest and B. C. Goldsmith is assistant supervisor of the
forest area. GRIZZLEY RIDGE Philip M. Toleman, who is interested in mining at Happy Camp, and Mr. Joseph Merriam of Bedford, N, Y., arrived in Nevada City Sunday. They are here on business in connection with the Grizzley Ridge mining property north of Nevada City in which they are interested.
