GRAZING GOOD IN .
NATIONAL-FOREST
In the neighborhood of 15,000
head of cattle and 35,000 head of
sheep are. grazing in the Tahoe National forest this year according to
reports. :
The migration from the _ valley
farms of Nevada, Yuba and Placer
counties and in the Sierra /and Long !
. Valleys; and around Reno on the!
east, into the mountains of the Tm»
hoe National Forest has been, going
on for some time.
The grass this year in the mountains is heaviersthan for many years
past. Due to the large amount of
. rainfall this year, both in the valleys and in the mountain regions,
the movement of stock into the
mountains started later this season.
The forage in the lower regions has
been better than in years past also,
allowing for a longer stay on the
farm fields. Leland Smith is in
charge of grazing lands in the Tahoe Nationa] forest and B. C. Goldsmith is assistant supervisor of the
forest area.
GRIZZLEY RIDGE

Mr. Joseph Merriam of Bedford, N,

They are here on business in connection with the Grizzley Ridge mining property north of Nevada City

this time.

GOOD SERVICE COSTS NO MORE
A modern establishment—a trained, intélligent and courteous
personnel — distinctive motor equipment and other evidences of
progress and prosperity are NOT an indication that funeral service
charges will be high. A successful concern can be built only by serving honestly and well, at prices that are fair and reasonable.
