The bride wore a white net gown and was at‘ended by two bridesmaids, Misses Virginia Carney and Merle Erdiey. sisters of the bride and sroom resnectively and who were dressed in flowered organdy. The bride was given away by her . father, Vern Erdley. A number of guests attended from Ruth, Nevada, among them being the grooms parents, Mr. and Mrs. Vern Erdley and family, Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Perry, as weil as guests from Nevada City, personal friends of the family. A white and green color scheme was carried out throughout the cosy home as profusion of Shasta daisies and ferns being used. A dainty supper was served after the service and the voung couple left for a honeymoon in Southern California. They will reside in Ruth, Nevada, where the groom is employed. The groom resided in Nevada City for a time before returning to Nevada and has many friends here whu extend best wishes for much _happiness and prosperity. Auxiliary Delegates Home from Encampment Mrs. Minnie Young, delegate, and Mrs. Howard*' Burr returned late Thursday evening from the V. F. W. posts and auxiliary encampment at Oroville. Mrs. Burr’s son, Raphael Hanahan of South Gate and friend, Miss Marjory Rogers of Los Angeles, came also attending the convention came to Nevada City to visit remaining until Sunday morning, The éncampment was both instructive and amusing. Among ‘points of interest visited were the oldest orange tree in the state at Bidwell’s Bar, oldest jail of Butte county built of stone, and trips into various scenie spots in the mountains. The V. F. W. auxiliary is preparing to give a public card-party Weanesday, July 14. HOME FROM TRIP Mrs. Andrew ULarsen_ returned Tuesday evening from a_ vacation with her sister, and brother in law, Mr.-and Mrs. W. J. Charles of San Jose. They enjoyed a delightful motor trip up the Redwood highway crossing over to Eureka and -proWashington before returning home. Miss Esther Tremaine, who is attending summer school in the bay region, returned to Nevada City Eriday evening to spend the holidays with her parents, Mz, and Mrs. Richare Tremaine. _ Miss Margaret Gibbs is spending a vacation at Jamestown with relatives and friends. Miss Clarice Holland, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Will Holland of this city, is spending her Zepyr Cove park, on Lake Tahoe. the holidays their daughters, Mrs. Robert ‘Baker and Mr. Francisco; Mrs, T. N. Donohue and two small sons, Cordova, Alaska, and Miss Jean Imrie of Berekeley. near the Middle Yuba below Graniteville had as her guests Roy Peralta, Joe Silla and Art Hagis, three boys from Oakland. They came down to Nevada City Tuesday and reported that they are having a wonderfully good time. Frank Wright of Sacramento is spending the holidays with his mother, Mrs. W. H. Wright of East Broad street, and other relatives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Bosworth had as guest last week Dr. and Frank Brewster and Dr. and Mrs. \. Cassidy, of Livermore. They were enroute home from Vv. F. W. convention in Oroville. Mrs. Brewster is known as an accomplish‘Mrs. Bosworth was her accompanist. Mrs. Brwester plans to return to Nevada City later and sing in Trinity Episcopal church. Dr. Brewster is commanding officer at the veterans hospital at Livermore. Mrs. Ada Mechum and husband of Venice spent last week visiting Mrs. Mechum’s counsin, Mrs. Ernest Pet-. esrson and husband in. Nevada City. Tom Rickard, graduate of the high school class of ’37, left. Nevada City for San Francisco last week to attend the C. M. T. C. citizens military training-camp. He will return in August and expects to attend Placer junior college. Mrs. John Figurski and sons have returned from Kings Beach on Lake Tahoe. The oldest son, George, was not so well on account of the elevation. Mr. Figurski is employed on the construction of the Cal-Neva lodge} on Lake Tahoe. Elliott, connected with the Empire-Star mine company at the Murchie and Zeibright mines partly in connection with flotation systems, left Friday for New York and will sail to South Africa to fill a post with the Newmont mine interests in that country.
