The Grass Valley ‘Chamber of
Commerce is sending a letter to all
. business and professional men in the
eity giving the Fourth of July celebration, which this year takes place
in Nevada City a big boost. The two
cities join forces and celebrate in
alternate years.
Under the heading Nevada City’s
Year, the letter. reads: The Whiskerinos, twentieth century impressions of the Forty Niners have started the (ball rolling. Both Nevada City
and Grass Valley clubs have ‘been
very active, Now it is time for you
to think of that float you plan to
enter in the Fourth of July parade,
so 'we are urging all you Grass Valleyans to enter into the Forty Niner
spirit and take part in the celebration. As soon as you have decided
what your float will be please give
the information to your chamber of
commerce.
Let’s éooperate to ‘the fullest. It
is Nevada City’s Year.

Grass Valley, together with. wellknown horsemen from Sacramento,
Auburn, Napa and San~Franciseo,
plans a three day trek, starting at
8 a. im. June 2:2 over the old Eimigrant Trail to his hotel in Soda
Springs. :
The 65 mile trip is to be made by
horseback at a rate of 20 miles per
day. Among the 40 enthusiasts who
‘plan to participate are Bob Scates
of Auburn who twill furnish horses
for those who don’t own their own.

Smith and Donald Hurd all of Sacramento. :
Jones plans to go over the trail
