Many of the active workers of the sogiety are connected with the public schools of this ‘county, and their time,' particularly ‘during the last féw weéks, has been fully occupied ‘by the duties incij dental to the — of the school # term. 4 The program adopted at, the last annual meeting (printed in thie column of June3,) announced July, August and September as a vacation period. While no member‘ ship meetings will be held during these three months, the committees _. wil continue to function and having . more time to devote to their assignments, the committee men. and ‘wo‘. men plan activities that will make possible the presentation at the next . annual meeting of a definite schedule of committee assignments and reports of effective accomplishments. . Brief Review of Committees. “Museum Committee:” Clairman, Elmer Stevens. Readers of the, Nugget cannot have failed to realize that althouhg the Museum in the old fire house on Main Street, Nevada City, is yet in its initial stage of development, it hag already become an institution well deseving of the support the people of Nevada County and of Nevada County’s former residents and many warm friends. Historical Sites: Chairman, Herbert Nile. .Under Mr. Nile’s direction, a standard marker for sites of historieal interest in this county will be provided. It is planned to place such markers on, or indicating the places where stood buildings of historical interest, old roads and trails or where events of significance took place in the early history of ‘this county. Mr. Nile will appreciate suggestions for markers and information regarding such sites.
