Burgen O’Connorof San Francisco, son of the late John O’Connor of Birchville paid a visit to his relatives in that place last week. This brings to mind that on Memorial Day, the O’Connor family ; of Birchville lost a treasured relic. Thieves stop . at nothing, now-a-days. Mrs. Nelly Putnam of Dixon was; a week end visitor at the home of her brother J. W. Culver of French} Corral. Mr.and Mrs. R. Cherry Carnival at San Juan. Mrs. Fogarty, as Nelly Lampy, lived in Sweetland some fifty years ago. Her stepfather was W. Grant. Mr. and Mrs. J. ©. Williams of Grass Valley and his brother, Will Williams, and wife (nee Nora Walters) of San Francisco, attended the Cherry Carnival on Sunday and came to French Corral to visit with old friends. ‘‘Happy Jack’’ and Will were gay and jolly and made many a happy time _ for their friends in French Corral, where their childhood and young manhood days were spent In those days they § figured in ai minstrel troup of French Corral boys, of which the late Geo. Sweetland was also a member. Geo. was on of the end men and to this day Was known by his comrades as “Sambo”. Needless to say the visit of the ‘‘Williams boys’’ was all too short for to suit their friends. By an_ oversight we failed to mention that Mrs. Rose Williams and son, Guy, were visitors last week and were in attendance at the clos' Ing exercises ofthe French Corral school.
