Caddy, Grass Valley, filed suit in “the Nevada county superior’ court, against Clarence Rowe, executor of the estate of Christopher C. Crase, asking $2,150 and return of 1937 Oldsmobile coupe, plaintiff alleges belongs to her. Mrs. Caddy charges Rowe has had possession of the vehicle since Sept. 25, 1947. She asks return of the vehicle plus $650 for damages due to depreciation and $1,500 to compensate for loss of use of the automobile to date. Vernon Stoll, Grass Valléy, is attorney for plaintiff. $6,800 ASKED FOR COLLISION DAMAGES Charles B. Marcum and Joseph B. Smith have filed suit in Nevada county superior court asking $6,865.50 damages from Erela D. Sherritt, as result of two-car collision on highway 40 one mile . REV. DAVID RALSTON RETIRES FROM PULPIT Rev. and Mrs. David Ralston are. at Home at 343 Clay street, Nevada City, after retiring -Sun. day to conclude 50° years in the pulpits of the Methodist church. Rev. Hillside . hospital . in illness. In 1910 Brown moved with. his family from Boise, Idaho, to Nevada City, where he resided for many years. He was engaged in the--freighting~-business~ ‘inthis area and mav be remembered by many as “Poke” Brown during this period. Brown moved to southern Oregon in 1920 working there in the farming and logging industries. About five ‘years he retired to live in Klamath Falls. Brown is survived by a sister, Mrs. Karl Fisher, San Jose; and a brother, Cecil Brown, of Tonopah, Nev. : Funeral services and interment were held in San Jose. STEPHENS SUCCUMBS Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at Holmes Funeral Home for Mrs. Catherine J. Stephens, 70, life-long resident of Nevada City, who. died’ Friday night at her home on Boulder street. . Interment was. in--Pine Grove cemetery. Mrs. Stevens was born May y, 1880, to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Schwartz of Nevada City, and attended local schools. She was married Christmas eve of 1900 to Rutherford Stephens, who. survives her.
