Los . -bring-out.a-.dandy--Sunday—crowd, . brought into GOLER CANYON PLACER Goler canyon. With the successful try-out of the large sluicing plant, several properties now under option will speedily come to a head. Britton and Murphy before deciding the’ method of handling the placer material made many runs in a smaller plant with flattering results compared with the sampling that was done in shaft sinking, boring and in many other ways; when it came to the slogan, “LETS GO” a large gas shovel was brought in for the purpose of building a mountain road up the side of the high hill, on the south side of Sand canyon, where the mill plant was to be constructed. A pipe line less than a mile in length connects the huge tanks on top of the hill, settling tanks weil’ tarred on the inside are in place; for the present try-out the placer material will be trucked to the mill. Later on a tram will be installed, when so, tie gold saver can be counted on as true to name. In no way does the operations thus far advanced show any indications of being a promotion proposition. Dan Murphy being asked “is there any surety that the machine will be doing business next Sunday,’’ he replied that ‘‘it’ll be going all right’ and a come-back, Twhy }” When answered that a little publicity would then and there the quickest route down the canyon for the:news gatherer was the workers trail. All of which meant, that even on a quiet week day there is all ways a sufficiency crowding the workers. Last week the large gold dredger in Benson gulch was hung up awaiting the arrival of Mr. Pierce, the builder, to make’some repairs. In the mean time the three quarter shovel was building a large stack of gravel and dirt for the next runs. C. C. Harris, well known northwestern business man, and president of the Josophine Mines Inc., with headquarters at Spokane, Washington, was shown over the Goler diggings by D. V. Cole of Los Angeles. Pumping the waters, caused by last winter’s storms, from two of the 60 foot shafts. (bedrock) in Goler canyon proper, has been resumed with favorable showings. Gold claim is progressing in good order. R. A. Watson and Los Angeles associates, in opening this ‘round, located at the mouth of Goler canyon, will soon prove the underground values of that section of e district. D.\Y. The Escabara mine, on Greenhorn Mountain, one mile from Davis ranger station, is a new development and bids fair to be a profitable one. A shaft has been sunk to a depth of 65 feet crosscutting from that point. Approximately 50 tons of free milling ore are now on the dump. It is said that the ore will average $30 per ton. Mine buildings have been erected and a residencé built with a view to permanency. Recent additions to mining equipment are: an air compressor, drills, stopper, concentrating table and a two stamp mill. The working are under the supervision of Mr. Frosh. J. H.
