Mr. Schiffiner intends to establish his home SaRASETe a . PROFESSIONAL CARDS DR. ROBERT F. WERNER ‘. é INING ACTIVITY IN the districts tributary to Nevada, City is decidedly on the increase and there seems every . reason to believe that much of this activity will prove of a permanent character. There is little doubt as to the mining . possibilities in the various districts and proper effort on the "part of adaquately financed organi’ations possessing a personnel with a proper degree of mining experience is sure to lead to results of lasting benefit to the community. We have a wonderful County due to become increasingly «a place of homes and our agricultural possibilities cannot be treated lightly, but above all we are a-mining community in a mining country and it is activity in this important industry that . is most apt to bring prosperity to our residents. A period of decided activity seems to be starting and there are many indications that this activity will broaden as time goes on. It is most noticeable in the outlying districts where conditions permit the opening of the mines with a lesser outlay of capital than in the deeper mining district close to home. It bas started from a sincere desire on the part of mining men and investors to find legitimate properties on which to expend their capital and efforts and it is fostered by the fact that mine owners in general are more prone to permit reasonable terms on their properties. The spread of this activity is assured as rapidly as present operators get their work under way and the manifold possibilities of our adjacent territory are we know that our section possesses true merit. “ HE RESCUE EULAH Mining Company, of which Mr. O. E. Schiffener is manager, is rapidly completing plans for 'a comprehensive dvelopment program on the Gaston Mine in Nevada City and is now engaged in moving his family from Nevada. ORDON: M. BETTLES of he Yellow Tiger Consolidated Mining Company has spent the past six weeks in Nevada City‘and adjacent territory. Mr. Beetles has moved to Nevada City to live and inetnds to make it his permanent home. Although not ready yet to announce the plans of him_self and Company in a*mining way, he is well satisfied with . conditions as he finds them and assures the Nugget that his oraginzation will soon be. operating in a substantial way. WHE ENTRY OF THESE TWO strong Nevada companies into the local field with their years of operating experience . will mean much to this county in the next few years. It is a safe bet that Nevada County which is already far out in. ‘front in quartz mining production will within the next-year or so climb into the frontrank of gold production in Cali-' fornia. Yuba county with its large dredgers working at Ham; monton has had that exalted rank for some years but its claim to leadership is now seriously threatened. Let everybody boost for our mines all the time and you will see the good old days back in Nevada County again. ‘ AAW The modern girl marries in haste.-to repaint at leasure.
