The cry all along was for $120,000,000 in new taxes.
Few voices were raised in a plea to slash the costs of government, the waste and the sinecures, the duplication and the
red tape—so that a large chunk of that 120 millions might not
have been needed.
As always, the politicians chose to dip more deeply into
