The Camptonville Union Grammar ‘cchool held commencement exersises atthe Masonic Hall on Sataurday evening, June 22nd, at which time seven students passed from the eighth grade into the high school. Some time ago a movement was started here in an endeavor to. get the Pacific Gas & Electric Company io consider bringing a power line into town, and it has just been determined that this will be impossible at this: time, : _ One of the most severe storms ever witnessed in this section during the month of June took place at the last week end. It rained as a winter storm, more water running Jown the gutters and ravines than any time during the past water season. It came at.a time when most all the spring’ hay was down, and just as the cherries were beginning to ripen, and otherwise was bad on some of the other fruit which suivived the frost, It. was also bad on some of the rural roads which were recently put in shape. The Department of Agriculture had a road crew in this section this spring, reeonditioning all the roads through the forest, grading them, and putting tham in better. shape than for many years. After the storm, of this work will have to be over. B. F. McNaught, Mrs. Phyllis Riddell and son, Minot,M. I. Whittum and party. returned Saturday from Glendale enroute to the Halkyerd Mine.
