_ One of the most severe storms
ever witnessed in this section during the month of June took place
at the last week end. It rained as
a winter storm, more water running
Jown the gutters and ravines than
any time during the past water season. It came at.a time when most
all the spring’ hay was down, and
just as the cherries were beginning
to ripen, and otherwise was bad on
some of the other fruit which suivived the frost, It. was also bad on
some of the rural roads which were
recently put in shape. The Department of Agriculture had a road
crew in this section this spring, reeonditioning all the roads through
the forest, grading them, and putting tham in better. shape than for
many years. After the storm,
of this work will have to be
over.
