Trinity Church—The Sixth Sunday
after Trinity, 8:30 a. m. Holy communion. After this service all those
who have been confirmed this year
will have breakfast in the rector’s
study. All young people confirmed
this past. eight months should make
a special effort to be present. 10:00
a. m. Morning prayer and sermon.
Church school meets with the regular worship service'for the first ten
minutes and then is dsimissed to the
classes under the shade trees ‘upon
the lawn. The rector,'will preach upon “Religion and National Defense.”
The music will be led by the vested
choir. Miss Mary Libbey will be at
the organ. Mrs. Marian Libbey will
direct the choir.
Note: The rector will be studying
at the University of California during the month of July. He will be
available to the people upon Saturday mornings at his study at the
church: If his services are needed
here he may be called at the Church
of Divinity School of the Pacific,
Berkeley, California. He will return
from the University every Friday evening. Services ‘will be held throughout July.

Club Honors Birthdays
The members’ of the Gold Flat
Country Club honored the birthdays
and wedding anniversaries of twelve
people at a colorful dinner and dancing party on Saturday evening. The
dinner was served at -<the_ picnic
grounds which was lighted with gay
lanterns. After the dinner all adjourned to the club hall for an evening of dancing.

license application Monday, June 24,
1940.
Myers Mobley was reared in this
city and has held a position of pharmacist in the Dickerman’s Drug Store
for several years. Universally\ liked
and esteemed he has the good wishes of ‘the entire community. Miss Joannes is from Massachusetts and in
her short stay here has won many
friends by her charming personality.

Honors Worthy Matron
Evangeline Chapter, and Aurora
Chapter, O. E. S. entertained jointly Tuesday evening in the Masonic
Hall in Nevada City honoring their
Worthy Grand Matron Helen Louise
Edwards. Two hundred were present
and fully a dozen of the grand officers ‘came from Los Angeles and bay
district to enjoy the special service.
Mrs. Conant of Lincoln, associate
grand matron, was also. present.
There were visitors. from other nearby cities. Several came from Modesto.
Evangeline Chapter officers formed a horseshoe and presented a gift.
