In the Superior Court today will begin the trial of the suit entitled, Elle

plaintiff, against J. L. Lewison, W.
H. Kruger and George Schaffer, execntors of the estate of Emma J, Regli,

commenced about six month8 ago and
is for the recovery of $15,000, or thereubouts, alleged to have teen an une
lawfal gift of Ellen to. his daughter,
Mrs. Regli, prior to the lat‘er’s death
The grounds for the recovery of the
sum stated are that Mr. Ellen was
mentally incompetent to make a valid
gift at the time the act was done, and
that his daughter used andue influence
over the old man. T. 3. Ford is attorney for the. plaintiff, and Fred
Searls and C. F. McGlashan are the
defendant’s attorneys. The case promises to be a hotly contested one and
will require a week probably for its
trial. Quite a number of witnesses
from Truckee will be required to attend and the result will be watched
