A second work party completed

Sunday, June 25th. Included in the
party, headed by L.H. Deynolds,
Camping and Activities Chairman

Robert H. Frank, Scout Executives.
A number of older Scouts were also

held in this city in twelve more days.
The display of pictures of local boys
in. the service of their country is’ a
most pleasing thought, as it brings
out the idea that the local citizens
are remembering those who are away
fighting. In looking over the group

the window to the east and later a,
display was started in the other wins
dow. The owners of the store are
asking that anyone bring their sons,
brothers, husbands, or relatives picwill start on Sunday, August 13th
and-continue for a two week period,
ending on. August 27th. As previously announced, Scouts going to and
from Camp. will be able to use bus
transportation, as approved by the
Office of “Defense. Transportation.
Rates for roundtrip from Roseville
and Auburn will me $3 and $2 from
Grass Valley and Nevada City. From
present indications, a very fine staff
consisting of veteran scouters and
older scouts will form the.senior and
junior staff personnel but in the
meantime, all scouts should plan to
get their camp applications to the
scout office, 924 Lincoln Way, Auburn.

Fire broke out in the kitchen of
the Walter Butz home, °510 Nevada
street, yesterday afternoon and running up the wall paper behind the
stove set afire to a shelf and finally
got into the attic. Two fire trucks
and the fire department battled the}
blaze and saved most of the house.
The kitchen: was gutted and part of
the roof destroyed.
Mrs. Butz was cooking a chicken.
The heat burst a can of fats, she had
saved. The grease ran into the gas
flames and Mrs. Butz called the fire
department.
