PENNEY CO dD’: PARTMENT STORE ‘CROSSCUT ON 1000 LEVEL IN IDAHO MARYLAND MINE The Idaho-Maryland Mines Company, Inc., is driving a crosscut northeast. from its property to the Mitchell ranch, location of the former Pioneer mine, which the company purchased about two years ago. The tunnel is being driven from the 1,000 foot level. the property was developed by the late C. C. Mitchell and associates of the Pioneer for 200 feet below the surface and returned excellent assays. Mr. Mitchell brought some of the ore to the Nugget office several years ago and it carried high values. President E. L. liver made the important statement about the IdahoMaryland mine stock some time ago, to the. effect that unless there is some radical change in taxation or ‘cost of operation, earnings of the company should warrant higher dividends in 1934 than last year. In 1933, ten cents a share was paid totalling $172,160. Intensive developmeht work is underway in the IdahMaryland mine from which a net profit of $505,107 was realized last year.. The Brunswick mine, of the same company, is expected to be producing 150 tons a day before the end of the year. Errol MacBoyle is general . manager. DEVELOPMENT OF ALTA HILL MINE A vigorous campaign of development is in store for the Alta Hill mine in Grass Valley and a part of the Golden: Center property. The. headframe has been reinforeed and the. old workings unwatered. In sinking operations in the last few days, the company struck an old river channel. ‘At the Golden Center mine on the same property, crews are drifting in good ore and the mill is running three shifts. FOR MINER’S WAGES upon his own and the assigned claim for wages of Mike Slatey, against Lee Hunt for work done on. the Omega Quartz mine. The suit tried before Judge Raglan Tuttle, had joined Mrs. Blanche Neaves as partner, but her interest was proved by Robert Tharp, attorney for the defendants to have a limited interest partnership. Non-suit was granted Mrs. Neaves. Francis Finnegan was attorney for the plaintiff. Boys! Girls!)
