Mrs. Locklin has always been active in fraternal organizations. She is
a past matron of Evangeline Chapter and has been a member 57 years.
At a meeting of the Rebekah lodge
this month she will receive a 50 year
pin for membership. She is a state
organist of the Past Presidents Association of the N. D. G. W. and has
held the office ten years. The next
meeting will be in Stockton next
April and she is planning to attend.

SELLS HOME PLACE
(Mrs, Theresa Kitts of Town Talk
has sold her home place to Mr. and
Mrs. Jack Townsend who moved into their new home about June 1.
Mrs. Kitts is staying in Grass Valley
with her nephew and wife, Mr. and
Mrs. Clifford Kitts until about July
first when she will go to Southern
California to live with her son Benton Ebaugh.
Mrs. Kitts came to California from
Missouri when a small child to live
ing died. The home was west of Nevada City. Mrs. Kitts went to the

CO-ORDINATING COUNCIL
FUND CLIMBING UP
The Co-Ordinating Council has received two more gifts of money for
their summer playground in Pioneers
park. Wednesday evening the Native
Daughters.gave a $20 check and:at a
. recent meeting the Native Sons presented them with a $5 check. The
auxiliary of Banner Mt. Post also
,gave $5 toward the planned $250
. needed for the program at the park.
This brings the total fund donated
to the recreational program to $180.
BANNER RIDGE
ROAD IS OILED
Supervisor C. S. Arbogast is oiling the four and a half mile road between Town Talk and the Banner
Mine road junction this week. Due
to cool weather the road has not been
passable all week and it will be a day
or two before it will be in good
shape. The oil does not soak into
the gravel as quickly as on hot days.
He has also scraped and graded on
the Pasquali road leading into the
‘Deer Creek power house, Mt. Oro
and Big Tunnel districts.
