FRENCH CORRAL, Mar. 9, (Special to The Nugget)— Well here we
are one week through the month of
March 8, so far the ‘“‘lamb’’ seems
to have. precedence! Everthing is
taking on its spring beauty. Almond, apricot and peach trees are
in bloom. The beautiful red of the
Japanese quY¥fce. ,along with showy
jonquils, daffodils, narcissus and hyacinths and violets galore beatify the
gardens, and the~grass, blessed
grass! It is making pastures green.
In the country grass means so much
yes, everything, for as many are dependent ‘on it for feed for their
stock. Many predict a dry season,
but we can still hope for the rains
that we need! Under our new administration the farmers can hope
for all good things.
With the wonderful radio service of today many had the pleasure of listening to the inauguraiicn ceremonies of President Hoover. In fact, one could almost imagine being an onlooker. Far away
places are brought very near to us
nowadays with this wonderful service.

Those .cld landmarks become endeared. and we regret to see them
disappear, but we must make room
for progress.
