The comparison between faial 7¢cidents in the home and on the highway is part of the counc’l’s annual report which shows'-that the nation as a whole trimmed down individual fatalities by 10,200 dast year. This is 'the greatest improvement in any 12 month period. The council reported 95,000 fatalities in 1938 as compared with 105,205 in 1937. Traffic fatalities dropped 19 per indicate that the American LS : from 39,643 to 32,000 last year. Home accidents, on the other hand, were increased from 32,000 to 32,a 938. alls ands epee suffocation apparently accounted for the increase in the home accident toll. The facts reported for 1978 clearly home now ranks as number one danger spot. The good work in traffic safety must be continued unabated but equally vital now is concentration on home safety education to combat common household dangers. page ne r= Accept our admonitions that give to you from time to time.
