Of War Production Division
O, McCraney, acting district manager of the contract distribution
division of the War Production Board, recently explained his duties and
the purposes of the governmental agency which he heads, to the Sacra-.
mento Regional Chamber of Commerce Secretaries, :

SALVAGING OPERATIONS
AT MURCHIE MINE
NEAR COMPLETION
The completion of salvaging operations at the Murchie Mine here is
expected before the end of March
The Murchie Mine was abandoned
by the Empire-Star Mines, Ltd.
about two months ago and since that
time a crew has been engaged in
salvaging steel and equipment, Last

after all useable equipment had been
removed.
The majority of the former emPloyees at the Murchie now are
working at the Gray Eagle Mine,
Siskiyou County copper mine of the
Empire-Star Mines Included in recent transfers to the Gray Eagle
were Joe Widauf, foreman at the
‘Murchie and Frank Swanson superintendent at the Zeibright.

Murchie in the salvaging operations
