A few years later in 1926, he joined the staff of the Nevada County Bank, now the Bank has been a valued official for many years. He has taken a»keen interest in the welfare of: Nevada City Lodge of Euks, of which he is the present secretary, and his activities in the lodge and social hall will be greatly missed. He has also been an active worker, and ia vice president of the local chamber of commerce. Paraphrasing the sentiments of hosts of friends of John Fortier who view his departure with ‘mingled gret, E. M. Rector, vice president of the Bank of America, commented: “John’s offer was just too good:a one for him to refuse, nevertheless, he will be sorely missed.
