COUNTY ‘VETFRANS OFFICE The Nevada County Veterans Seris Office is set up to act as the _bersonal representative of the Vet. eran, not only in connection with the i rights and benefits to which he is entitled, but to assist him in every possible way in his civilian life. Reviewing the varied services made available through this office, it is ointed out that other vicemen are offered valuable council on their rights in connection with pensions, service and terminal leave pay, insurance, social security benefits and other matters. — The reintegration of veterans into civilian life is «primarily. a ‘home town job, and our organization is striving to do that job with the-best possible advantage to the veteran” this office states. Perfect Lens Yet To Be Found In Human Eye SAN FRANCISCO: The perfect lens has yet to be found in a human eye; congenital abnormalities, however minute are seen im every , lens. . These points are noted by Dr. F. C. Cordes, professor of ophthalmology in the University of California \\Medical School in a study of congenital cataracts. “Practically all lenses, even those of young children, show some dustlike opacities.’’ Dr. Cordes states. “A elear lens one in the sense of a good photographic or miscroscopic 'lens is probably nonexistent .in the human eye.” The physicianstates that while small opacities can be classified as congenital cataracts in a sense they are not usually thought of as sueh. The types of congenital cataracts are mumerous and the known varicties have been greatly expanded in recent years b the development of the slit lamp and the corneal miscoscope fo study of the dilated pupil.
