NEVADA LEGISLATURE
PROPOSES BONUS
Proposing a state cunts for the
discovery of gold mines in the state
of Nevada, Assemblyman Branson
has recently introduced a bill in the
legislature, now in session, which he
if it is passed.
The measure proposes to pay dis_ €overers of gold mines a bounty of
additional $1000 bounty for each
ditional $10,000 worth of ore unthe state has paid $10,000.
For other properties in the same
of ore taken out of the properties-up
to.a total payment. of $10 600.by.the:
Affidavits of he discovery must
be made within ten days with the
state mine inspection.—Mining Rewere present. err sc 4 .

bill, and C. A. Paulson of Weaverview.
If They Find Gold They Don’t Need
Bounty.
Assembly bill No. 54 by Brahson
received wonderful of White Pine, makes provision up
attention and care there: Her hus-!to $10,000 for bounties to be paid tide against the bill when he told the
prospectors who discover gold either
ville represented the opposition.
A spirited public meeting was
held. J. B. Rohrer, chairman of the
Siskiyou County Board of Supervisors, appeared at the meeting as a}
representative of Siskiyou county.
It seems that Mr. Rohrer turned the
committee he
represented 25,000

in new places or in places which have
not produced within the past ten
years.
Under the provisions of this interesting bill, the prospector, tobe eligible for a bounty payment, must discover gold in paying quantities.
Now it strikes that. the prospector who finds gold in paying
quantities doesn’t need a bounty.
The gold itself will be reward
aplenty for him, just as the lure of
gold is in itself enough to keep him
prospecting as long as he can finance
himself.
More to the point, we'd say, would
be some method, if one could be devised, for financing worthy prospectors in their quest for treasure.
Finances after discovery will take!
care of themselves.—Western Nevada Miner.
