AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE *DISCHARGE OF CANNON, FIREARMS, FIREWORKS, OR ANY EXPLOSIVE SUBSTANCE IN THE CITY OF NEVADA, EXCEPT IN CONNECTION WITH PUBLIC DISPLAYS OR CELEBRATIONS UNDER THE CONTROL OF THE CITY COUNCIL AND—OR CITY SUPERINTENDENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR THE AND A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE, AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT WITH THE PROVISIONS OF THIS ORDINANCE. Be It Ordained by the Council of the City ‘of Nevada: SECTION 1: No person, or persons, firm, company, corporation, or association, other than as hereinafter permitted, shall fire or discharge any gun, cannon, rifle, pistol, or firearm of any kind, or explode any rocket, firecracker, bomb, Roman candle, torpedo, torpedo cane, blank cartridge or other combustible device or explosive substan¢e, or any kind of fireworks, by whatever name known, within the City Limits of the City of Nevada. Provided that public displays of fireworks may be given with permission of the City Council under a competent director who: understands explosives. SECTION 2: No person, or persons, shall place any _ explosive substance on the rails of any railroad e@ompany at any time, except when used as signals in the conduct of business. SECTION 8: The foregoing provisions as to the use of firearms shall not apply to peace officers in the discharge of ‘their official duties and using reasonable care, nor to persons using firearms in necessary self-defense, or in a careful manner for the purpose of destroying noxious animals upon land owned or occupied by them, nor to bona fide gun clubs, nor to bona fide Shooting galleries, nor to ‘persons using firearms in a careful manner in a bona fide shooting gallery.
