Many Camptenville mothers gathered at the school house the afteracon of May 1 to enjoy the program
marking Pwhlic School Week presfour grades to Sacramento on an. 7 »Y the students of Camptoneducational excursion. The youngsters expect tovisit the state capitol
and to observe the legislature in
session, They also plan,to visit Sutter’s Fort and other places of interest in and around Sacramento. The
school bus will be used for transportation, together with cars of parents of the children participating.

The pupils made a good showing
of work samples for the year which
were displayed on the walls. The
program was rounded out by recitations and music, Mrs. Babara Tabor
directed the music.
After the program, Parent Teachers Association held their regular
meeting and voted to accept the program for the year as presented by the
executive board. The pogram included an entertainment to be given in
the latter part of July to raise fumds
‘Because the Masonic Hall was destroyed by fire last winter, the entertainment will be given on the
grounds of the US Forest Service

Immediate aim of the PTA is i%
establish a lending library for children in Camsptonville, Mrs. Mary
Jackson and Mrs. Don Kiseig are
working on this committee and it is
hoped the library can'be established
hhere either through California state
library or by donations of books from
individuals.
Regular meeting of the Camptonville Woman’s Club which was postponed from May 1 wae held at the
Nelson Stone home Thursday evening, new officers elected-at the last
meeting presiding. New secret pals
were @rawn and secret pals for the
preceding year were made known.
Mrs. Fred Hamson went to Marysville Tuesday on business and returned to Camptonville Wednesday.

‘April 14th, the marriage being a
Mrs: Burt Huckins, mother of
Mrs. Tom Potter. visited in Camptonville over the week end returning to her home in Grass Valley Monaday night with Art Tines. She was accompanied by Miss Bobby Potter,
daughter of Mr: and Mrs. Tom Potter. .
Foreman L. L. Land and an eleven
man road maintenacn orew has moved into the forest service ranger Station here with Fred Leary for cook.
The crew will work on ‘forest service
roads in the Camptomville district
until sometime in July.
The forest service is reconstructing the road into the Pepper Ranch
on Bullards Lake.
Leon Reed of Grass Valley, has
been employed for the season as fire
prevention crew foreman by the US
Forest Service: at Camptonville.
Mr. and Mrs. Esmond Humphrey
were in town Saturday nroute from
Greenville to San Francisco, His
aunt, Mrs. C. W. Turner accompanied. the Esmonds to San Francisco.
Mr. Esmond is recovering from an
attack of infantile paralysis.
Mr. and Mrs. Luke L. Ramm returned. a few days ago from a two
week shoneymoon trip into Southern California; ard Arizona. They
were married: at Grass Valley on
surprisé ,to their many friends and
left immediately on their trip.
Mra. Ramm .was formerly Miss
Jean Y. Johnson; daughter® of Mr.
and Mrs. Samuel T. Johnson, of
Camptonville having resided here for
the past few years and having a host
of friends.
The groom, a member of a pioneer
Mrs, Julius C. Ramm, has sppent
family of this region, son of Mr. and
most of his life in this section, having followed the lumbering industry
during the past few years.
