I have been inviting ideas to come
to the surface for the last hour and
the most rational ones even seem to
elude capture. Perhaps one or two

will set them down au naturel.

perhaps two or three children,

an insurmountable cookery problem.

Organ music is to my senses (if
properly played) the most beautiful
of the instrumentals. The first records of the organ shows that it was
used for devotional music. In the
fourth century there was a quickening of interest in organ music, but
not until the eigth century did real ,

Herriot the Frenchman is no doubt
an Irishman in French clothes or else
he has recently kisséd the Blarney
stone. This outburst is fostered by°
having read his letter to us after he
got back to his native land. How any

that the ground breaking exercises,
will be the next program to be
brought up for consideration. I
overheard a conversation one day
last week and one remark which
lodged in my tympanum was: “Well,
I feel this way about it; that if the
people again say build that swimming
pool and it is not immediately done,
I will be mighty glad to circulate for
signatures a petition demanding action at once!’’ Maybe more people
feel the same way.

Taxes in Nevada County
Paid Despite Moratorium
Even though Nevada county is under the state tax moratorium, a report from Tax Collector Hammill’s
office shows that 81 per cent of the
taxes’ have been paid, up to May Ist.
Since May Ist, other taxes have
been paid and more are expected to
further reduce the delinquency list.
Credit for the Nevada county record goes to the large operating
mines of the county. Only one of the
large mines took a advantage of the
. moratorium.
