The company is making preparations to start sinking at once in the Central shaft, a distance of another 200 feet. The long drain tunnel is being retimbered. The company has purchased two electric locomotives and one shovel loader. O. E. Schiffner is superintendent. MOULTON GRAVEL MINE W. E. Moulton of French Corral is operating his property, the Moulton Gravel mine, by the ground sluici ing method. Four men are employed. Water is brought down from the high mountain by ditch. The flume that went out above Columbia Hill-on the ditch has been repaired. GRACEY MINE L. W. Cheney, operating the Gracey-Glencoe mine, reports the opening up of a four foot ledge on the 400 foot level. He has a force of six men employed. This ledge on the surface was between five and. six inches in men. The old property worked years ago holds every promise of becoming a paying property under the supervision of the Newmont interest. as BULLION MINE At the Bullion mine, below Grass Valley, a winze is being sunk below the 15 level in the company’s ground to develop more ore for mining. Ore is being mined on the 300 foot leve! also. The suit between the Newmont interests and the Bullion mine hag been set for June 18tW. NORAMBAGUE PROPERTY The Norambague property below Grass Valley is being unwatered for an examination. The Perrine and Norambague were taken over recently by outside capital. A. R. Archibald of Grass Valley is in charge of operations. ¢ REPUBLIC GOLD MINING Co. Mining and development continues in the Republic Gold mine at Newtown, the big mill with its auxiliary plant treat around 200-tons of ore per day at last accounts. The mine has 68 men employed under Superintendent E. C. Jacobs. MONTE CARLO MINE Work has been resumed at the width, and» has widened as sinking progresses until it is now four feet! in width. PENNSYLVANIA MINE The Newmont interests have taken over the Pennsylvania mine in’ Browns Valley in the last few days and placed Mr. Ernest Cole in charge. He is in the employ of the company at the Murchie mine east of Nevada City and will reopen the newly acquired property, with a crew of 11 ' City visitor. Monte Carlo mine.
