Cc. D. Wickes, mining man of Tyler was a business visitor in this city
today and reports mining as very
quiet in his district. so far this
spring. Rumors keep coming in of
progress being made in securin¢
water for the San Juan Ridge and if
it is secured boom times will again
come to that section. Heavy snows
of the past winter did much damage
in the high moumtains, breaking
down flumes used in bygone times
to bring water to the gravel properties of the ridge district.
Clayton Whitaker, and bride of a
few months, have taken the Linden
house on Nursey and Nihel streets.
Mr.° Whitaker, popular

many friends in his stay of about a
year in this city. Mrs. Whitaker, who
